Need to send a payment to someone over email for free? No
registration is needed, no middlemen involved, just you and the person you are
sending the check to. Save on postage and get a check to anyone almost
immediately.
Basically all you need to do is create the check on your
computer with an easy interface, then either print out the check or send the
check to whoever using email. It is that simple.
These are the two programs needed to accomplish this:
InstiCheck
With this program you create your
check with an easy to use interface. You even have the option to put your
own logo on your check. Once you have created the check you can either
print it out or you can send it to whoever using email. The email will be
an encrypted file, with an option to put a password on the file, so that you
don't have to worry about it getting in the wrong hands. Also included in
v3.0 is Key Verification. When you e-mail a check a key will get assigned
to that check. Without that key the check cannot get printed out. So
once the recipient prints the check the key is destroyed so that they cannot
print it out again. Other features include:
-
Write out a check and then print it
out or email that check.
-
Choose from a variety of different
check format. Also can create custom formats.
-
Print blank QuickBooks checks.
Setup multiple bank accounts.
Import any comma, tab, or other
delimited file. Also can create custom import utility.
-
Password and encrypted checks that
will help protect your information.
-
Key Verification - helps ensure
person receiving the e-mailed check can only print it out once.
-
Have an email sent to you every
time the person who received your check prints it out.
-
Printed checks are logged in
history.
-
Have up to two logos on your
checks.
-
Have up to two digital signatures on your
checks.
Print check copies
Create PDF copies of checks.
InstiCheck Viewer
With this free program you view the
check that was created and sent to you via email using InstiCheck. You
don't have to worry about the person receiving the check not being able to open
it because in the email they will have a download link for InstiCheck Viewer to
download the program for free if they don't have it yet. You can only
view the check using this program because this program will decrypt the check
and make it into a viewable format. If a password is required to open the
file, you will be prompted to enter that password and if it is the incorrect
password, you will not be able to view the check. This keeps the check
from being viewed by the wrong person. If the person who sent the check
set a KEY for the check then you must be connected to the internet to verify the
key. Also, if the person who sent the
check request an email to be sent to them when the person prints out a check
then you must send out that email before you actually print out the check.
This way the sender knows when and how many times you printed that check out.
When printing out a check, there is
a few things to keep in mind:
1) You should have a decent printer like a laser printer or a Bubble Jet
printer. The reason for this is because of the micr line that prints on
the bottom of the checks. The bank has a micr reader that reads this
information. Some banks require a magnetic ink in your printer but most
banks have upgraded their system. The checks are scanned digitally.
Even if the bank can't read the micr line digitally they will process it
manually but if you are processing a lot of checks and the bank insist that you
have a magnetic toner then I would either change banks or get the magnetic ink.
2) You should have check stock paper. You can get this paper at your
local office store like Office Max. The reason for this type of paper is
for security purposes. Some bank may allow you to get away with regular
paper but we strongly recommend you using check stock paper.
3) Is a signature required on the check? Actually no!
With the laws out there today the only thing that is required is a verbal or
written authorization which can be received via phone, fax, email or even the
internet. So on the check you can put a statement in place of the
signature that has a statement giving authorization. This is included in
the software. Our recommendation is to put a signature on your
check. This is very easy to do. Just right your name on a piece of
paper, using a black marker, and then scan that signature using a scanner. If you don't have a
scanner then you can go to an office store or printing store and they can do
this for you. You need to save the file as a bitmap image... Signature.bmp.
The laws that changed are in the Uniform Commercial Code, Title 1, Section 1-201 (39) and Title 3, Section 3-104, and 3-403; Code of Federal Regulations, Title 12, Chapter U, Part 210; and Regulation J., Federal Reserve Bank, Part 2, Sections 4A-201 to 4A-212.
4) The first time when using this software, make sure to print out
test pages so that you can make sure the check is aligned correctly on the check
stock form.
